Religious scholars believe that a tablet of "Ten Commandments" were given to Moses on Mount Sinai sometime between the 13th and 16th centuries. As a result, churches that believe in the Bible hold the Ten Commandments as sacred. They see these Ten Laws, as a guide, given directly by God to mankind. Pastors and churchgoers alike think of these rules as instructions for how we should all live our lives here on earth, while we still have possession of that life.

In 1997, the Notorious B.I.G. (a rapper), also known as Christopher Wallace, also just known as Biggie, released an album titled "Life After Death." On that album was a song, offering what B.I.G. termed the "Ten Crack Commandments." It was released 16 days after his death. Like the Ten Commandments given to Moses by God, the Ten Crack Commandments were also a group of Ten Laws to live by; but these laws were given by Biggie, to early career drug dealers, as a guide for how to survive and achieve success on the streets, at least while they still had possession of that life.

This book presents the "Ten Black Commandments." These are also Ten Laws, this time being presented by me to you the reader, as cautionary advice for how to live your life in America, with Black skin, now that you have graduated.
